Peter has carried out all manner of furniture repairs and alterations over many years
and is one of our approved contractors. In addition to this he has often been approached
to find solutions to specific furniture or operational problems - for example he
has built numerous tailor-made shelving units for offices and open plan work areas.
His
craftsmanship, for that is what it is, is of the very highest standard. His innovatory
approach to work is outstanding. Recently he provided new tops for a set of beech
plan chests (the old ones were scratched and damaged) at a very competitive price
and designed and built a wooden and stainless steel trolley to transport material
around our unique special collection.
If he can't find an answer to a problem then
he usually knows somebody who does!
Peter is a joy to work with. I wish that there
were more craftsmen of his ability around.

I have known Peter Davies for over 20 years from when he worked for a Sheffield firm and subsequently as he set up his own company. I have always found his work to be of a very high standard. Peter has a helpful and friendly approach, which results in good working relationships with our staff. He will use his initiative when required and will offer options where a simple solution is not always possible.
Peter offers and ably carries out a range of services. In the facilities department we mainly use his company for joinery purposes, for example for small jobs like the fitting of notice boards, providing and fitting shelving, fixing door signs and for larger jobs such as alterations and counters. He also provides good quality made to order items.
He is reliable, willing and very flexible in his approach. I have no hesitation in recommending him for future work.

I am the Admin/Resources Manager in the South Yorkshire division of a large National Service. A primary responsibility of my job is to ensure that the office is maintained to a good standard. The services of Peter Davies were made known to me approximately 11 years ago.
At that time Peter Davies was on the list of authorised/accredited contractors and Peter would be called in to undertake casual work within any of the premises.
Peter’s services are wide ranging – this is one of the reasons I employ him. I have used the services of Peter Davies for the following:
· Inter office moves (furniture moves etc)
· Minor alterations to office structures
· Specific commissioning of pieces of work
Peter is always given in advance a list of duties – he is then able to assess on site support needed. He is then able to work effectively against the list when on site. He liaises over any difficulties. He is excellent at pointing out when theory will not translate into practice and is personally very supportive of workable alternatives on site.
I find Peter’s support to my office invaluable in a way – someone I can trust, someone I respect (attitude and performance), someone to undertake many minor jobs that can be collated into a day’s worth of walk within my office – work that keeps the place safe and the premises in good state.
